Oxford City General Practices

  • Helping to shape health care in Oxford

We will do this in 3 main ways:

  • Examine patient referrals to specialists (to ensure they are appropriate, timely and the treatment is high quality)

  • Redesign services where the current system can be improved

  • Maintain services where they are performing well.

In addition each practice holds a budget to pay for its referrals prescribing and community bed days.

This site aims to:

  • to tell patients about practice based commissioning (PBC)

  • for patients to tell us what works well and what needs to change with regard to their care

  • to update clinicians on progress.

Most Oxford City general practitioners have agreed to work together to help improve the health and care of people in Oxford. The practices taking part are listed to the right. This website is funded by the practices themselves. The opinions are not necessarily those of the PCT nor an individual practice.
